Larinier Fish Pass
A Larinier fish pass works by creating turbulence in the water flowing over it, water flowing down the baffle will create turbulence
raise 100mm above the top of the baffle surface height, creating a
swimmable passage for salmonids and other species.
The new HDPE option has additional benefits. It is more resilient to theft as HDPE has no material scrap value. The materials are light weight in nature making it safer and more practical to install.The Fish pass can be delivered in large sections. HDPE is also a very cost effective solution, compared to the metal options.No maintenace is needed. The carbon footprint of HDPE is far less than metal alternatives. Other fish pass designs are also available.
De Wit Boxed Fish Pass
A De Wit fish pass is a large box structure consisting of individual
chambers. It can be used when the differential head is limited as well
as in shallow waters, generally in fairly flat country side. The De Wit fish pass can be made from stainless steel, HDPE, or pre-cast concrete.
