Siphon Fish Ladder
The Siphon fish ladder is an innovative fishway, which can be applied to facilitate fish passage at any watercourse obstruction and structures including weirs, penstocks and
flap valves. The fishway is compact, cost-effective and can be applied in places where little space is available. The Fish siphon allows passage of all types of fish including bottom feeders, it has been proven even frogs and tadpoles can use the system.

The Siphon fish ladder is set in a tube that connects the head and tail waters of a water course obstruction. A series of
baffles inside the tube divides the head difference over
an obstruction in small steps. A vacuum pump pumps air
from the fishway and thus raises the water level in the
tube. Once the headwater spills over the top baffle the
fishway starts siphoning and the vacuum pump is
switched off.
