Back Raking Machines

Operating since the Victorian era, the Kinlochleven hydroelectric power station comprised one main dam and three smaller dams. The smaller dams, vital for water supply during rainfall, were manually operated by Victorian technology, demanding a permanent operator presence.

The project addressed a flood risk associated with a stream running under Daylesford Road in Cheadle through a culvert. The existing manually operated screen in the culvert posed challenges during severe weather conditions, with limited availability of operatives for manual raking.
