Aquatic Control Engineering are looking for a Junior Estimator, to join the sales and estimation team to support the provision of accurate costed proposals and quotations.

Aquatic Control Engineering are a leader within their sector, supplying turnkey mechanical and electrical solutions for water management, flood defence and environmental services. The Company’s focus lies within water flow control products (valves, pumps, sluice gates) fish friendly land drainage pumps and fish migration solutions.

The Junior Estimator will work to support both the Standard and Regional Sales teams. They will report to the estimator and Sales Director on all proposals, and development of estimation works.

The key focus of this role is to ensure customers receive accurate, and specific quotations and that administration of cost records is kept up to date. The Junior estimator will assist in the collection and recording of cost information that allows proposals to be put forward. The Junior estimator will provide revalued/revalidated quotes to sales and project manager to allow orders to be placed and customers to be informed in a timely manner.

Main Responsibilities

  • To produce quotations working alongside the estimator to determine costs and suitable profit margins
  • To work with supply chain and subcontractors to obtain quotations
  • To assist with the development of estimation processes and communication with the wider business
  • To work with the Standards and Regional sales team to produce quotes in a timely manner
  • Reviewing costs, mark ups, margins with the Sales team
  • To issue requests and follow up with the supply chain to obtain cost estimates in line with deadlines
  • Assisting with tenders through collating a range of supporting documentation (Accreditations, financial and technical capabilities.)
  • Ensure compliance is maintained with all pre qualifications and portals such as Builders Profile, Achilles and Constructionline

Proficient at using Microsoft Excel and Word to provide clear documents
Ability to communicate well within a team environment interacting with internal departments, clients, and subcontractors

Experience
No Specific experience is required; however an understanding of costing, quotations or business administration would be advantageous.
Experience with computer based systems such as word and excel is required.

Qualifications

No specific qualification is required within Business or Engineering however, relevant qualifications are desirable.
