Flap Valves
ACE were the first in the UK to provide stainless steel and HDPE non-return valves (NRV’s). Alternatives to the outdated cast iron versions used in the past. It has been ACE’s philosophy to use modern materials and up to date technologies. As a result, reducing maintenance, carbon footprint and increase asset life. This has enabled us to forge our strong position which we hold in the UK market today.
UK Designed
Flap Valve has been designed and manufactured in the UK using the most cutting-edge techniques
Customisable Options
The Flap Valves can be designed to suit any outfall and are available in either HDPE or stainless steel 316, catering to diverse requirements.
Eel Dampers
If elver passage is required, we offer eel dampers that keep the flap valve ajar until on-seat water pressure compresses them and allows the valve to seal.
About Flap valves
Our range of flap valves can be designed to suit almost any outfall and can be manufactured in either HDPE or stainless steel 316.
If elver passage is required we also have a range of eel dampers which keep flap valve ajar until on seat water pressure compresses them and allows the valve to seal.
Why Choose Flap Valves
01
Flood Protection
Our Flap Valves offer a simple yet effective method of flood prevention. Installed in a variety of conditions to prevent backflow into outlets and minimise risk of flooding.
02
Low Carbon Footprint
HDPE has the lowest CO2 footprint when compared to alternatives currently used for water flow control. HDPE is UV stable meaning little or no micro plastics unlike the coating systems on cast iron and steel.
03
Quick Installation
With no need for casting in or grouting, you can save over 12 hours in installation time, compared with stainless or cast-iron alternative
04
Material Durability
Available in either HDPE or stainless steel 316, our Flap Valves are durable and resistant to corrosion, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
A flap valve is in essence a door that only allows water or sewerage to flow in one direction. The flap valve is opened by the water flowing through and forcing the door open. Once the downstream water level rise and force the door shut nothing can flow back through. Our flap valve range is available in sizes from 100mm, and we can build bespoke sizes to accommodate the site requirements.
Our flap valves are predominantly made from HDPE, however for larger sizes stainless steel 316 options are available. HDPE is a great material for flap valves for a number of reasons. Firstly, HDPE is buoyancy neutral in water meaning our flap valves offer low headloss. Secondly, HDPE is environmentally friendly when compared with alternative flap valve materials. Finally, HDPE has great ductility meaning is excellent at absorbing knocks from debris.
Yes. Our flap valves come with a complete fixing kit and can be installed extremely easily. Check out this installation video to see for yourself – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLcXWlsEmKw
The ACE flap valve range can be mounted in many options depending on the requirements of the site. We offer the standard wall mounted flap valves, pipe mounted, and flange mounted. If you are unsure of what you require, please contact us.

More About Flap Valves
A flap valve is a type of non-return device for water or sewerage. The purpose of a flap valve is to ensure water can pass through the valve in one direction only. Flap valves operate by water flowing through a pipe or culvert and pushing the swinging door open. When the water level on the downstream side of the flap valve is higher than in the pipe or culvert it presses the swinging, door shut and prevents the water traveling back through the system.

It is this strong position that enabled us to use the years’ of experience to design and manufacture their own brand of flap valves called AQUIKO.
